CONGRATULATIONS TO JOHN RITZLER, ESGR PATRIOT AWARD RECIPIENT
SPECIAL THANK YOU TO SR. AIRMAN MATT WEEMS FOR HIS MILITARY SERVICE
The Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) is the leading U.S. Defense Department program that promotes cooperation and understanding between civilian employers and the National Guard and Reserves employees. Sr. Airman Matt Weems nominated Transportation Supervisor, John Ritzler and Schwebel Baking Company to receive the ESGR Patriot Award in honor of their support of his military service with the U.S. Air Force Reserve. Matt works as a Transport Driver in Youngstown, OH and has been an employee of Schwebel’s for the past 11 years. He most recently attended Air Force technical school as well as the 910th Airlift Wing newcomers program. His military training and technical school attendance required Mr. Weems to take leave from his fulltime position at Schwebel’s for more than a year. Mr. Ritzler fully supported Mr. Weems endeavors and “took the news in stride”. Mr. Ritzler was both surprised and humbled by the experience of being nominated by Mr. Weems. “It’s surprising; I’m just doing something anyone would do. I’m not looking for recognition. It’s humbling.” Mr. Weems expressed his appreciation for the company and especially Mr. Ritzler. “He does the schedule, juggles the guys and makes it happen so we can get product to the stores. I am grateful to have a good job to come back to.”
The Schwebel Baking Company wishes to thank all active duty military members and veterans for their dedicated and loyal service to our country!
